The Height Of Incessant Killing Of Unarmed Protesters By The Nigerian Military Is Alarming

History is repeating itself as the President Muhammadu Buhari led government have chosen to use military force (order than presidential address) to quell a peaceful ongoing nationwide  protest in Nigeria

Perhaps only few Nigerians or historians understand the tyrant in the clothe of a democrat, in the person of President Buhari, who over the years in his past regime during the military era never used the peaceful approach when it comes to national concern

Reelected under civilian rule was a mistake made by Nigerians with the expectation of change, that would never emerge, definitely not from someone who knows less or nothing about democracy and would quell any kind of protest with the severest of forces, without minding who get aimed or killed

The extra judicial killing of innocent citizens, unlawful arrests, wilful extortion of money and other valuables, invasion of privacy of homes, laptops, phones and other private accessories have been the practices of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, otherwise known as SARS and other Police Operatives in Nigeria which calls for National Concern over the years

The government have been adamant while these hegemonic acts by the force authorities against the citizens have been going on without no one speaking up for the masses, the youths who are always the vulnerable ones to such circumstances, took to the streets since the past weeks to protest and register their dissatisfaction over the situation of things in the country to a government that had condoned such ugly menaces

Unfortunately, Nigeria is a country where Human Rights are undermined with absolute negligence, otherwise in a sane country with regards to Human Rights, a protest of two weeks is bound to attract the right attention, especially a peaceful one for that matter for the good interest of the Nation

The Lagos State government who couldn’t endure the closure of the Toll Gate as regards the protest, ordered for a 24 hour curfew in the state which was bridged by the protesters and attracted the presence of military force who have no regards for human lives, as their intention to shoot-to-kill were not hidden last night

The targets are unarmed protesters who are majorly young Nigerian youths, ranging from celebrities, business men and women, students and the poor hawkers on the streets who face the brutal treatments of the SARS and the Police Operatives on daily basis and have no other way of registering their grievances to the government order than to protest and demand for justice, which is supposed to be their right

It is always said that justice delayed is justice denied and the souls of the innocent people that lost their lives last night, as a result of demanding for what ought to be their national right, will continue crying for justice from the government of Buhari

However, the African Union AU, the United Nation UN and the European Union EU, have a huge role to play in calling the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to order and to restore Human Rights in the country as citizens are not protected from having a contradictory view of the Muhammadu Buhari led government.
