MODERN SOCIETY— IMPEDIMENT To DEVELOPMENT In AFRICA

Africa is a continent in distress begging for help; Any form of help likely to emerge would definitely crumble under political in-activeness, and in-cautiousness of the youths, especially the elites that understand the arts, and navigation of politics and leadership, but have chosen to remain political inactive because of limitless demands from the ones that should be their pillar of support on the tussle for power.

Haven live in South Africa for a half decade, I can vividly say that South Africa remain one of the countries in Africa where positive impact of Western influence can still be felt regardless of It’s daunting Apartheid history.

Retrospectively, Apartheid is one of the eras one wouldn’t wish to have back in human history, sadly, it was the era which put in place glories that South Africa still dwells in today as one of the advanced and developed countries in Africa. Rating infrastructural development in the country in post Apartheid era, one do not need glasses to view the slow-wittiness of the Black man.

Perhaps, two decades are not too long a time for the infrastructures to have been dilapidated as most of the sectors currently lack maintenance which is not fast approaching because the MODERN SOCIETY understands less or nothing about development and human comfort, except individual comfort.

But, comparing South Africa to countries like Nigeria and Zimbabwe, one would understand the consequences of early independence especially in countries that are yet to see lights of development and advancement.

Judging by the tone in which Nigeria and Zimbabwe clamored for self rule, one would think the leaders had something positive in stock for the people, except that which are worse than what the people got from the colonizers, which hindered their early exposure in life, as people were handicapped in acquiring western education or settling for white-collar jobs.

Most of the African leaders that still perpetuate themselves in power till date, are the same people who fought against colonial rule in Africa with the intent of bringing freedom to the people. Freedom of association, fair hearing, speech, and assembly.

These are rights/ freedom they are still denied of presently, in countries like Nigeria.

Haven lured the people in getting their massive support in fighting colonialism, and given the false hope of bringing the freedom to them, little do the people knew the freedom would be quickly snatched away from them by the same people who enticed them in fighting for it, with the hope of a brighter and better future.

Here is the future, how bright, and better is it?

True freedom in Africa, lies on the MODERN SOCIETY waking up from their slumber, and realize their rights have be stolen from them, and the future cannot get brighter than it is, if things are left to remain currently as it is constituted without given exposed and enlightened youths the political right to transform the society.

But, how can such right be given to youths who have vehemently supported these reshuffled leaders, who have done nothing or less in their past regime/ administration to improve the African Continent to the standard of It’s American, Asian, and European counterparts.

Hence, the youths are comfortable with the current economic situation in Africa, and supports leaders that plunder the economy, no change would ever emerge from the society.

Unfortunately, transformation of a society is not something which can be done by one person, it requires collective effort by the selfless ones willing to impact a change in the society.

African Revolutionists of today are mostly informed on the negativity that surrounded colonialism in Africa, and thus have channeled their grievances against the Westerners, which has impeded on the sense of sight they could have used in seeing the injustice been perpetrated by African leaders.

Immigration challenges remains one of the reasons some people would never see or experience the development in other countries, such that always compel me to write about the underdevelopment of Nigeria and lack of dividends of democracy in the country which the people are yet to understand because most of them do not travel around.

South Africa is fast diminishing in its values, and infrastructures, just as it started in Nigeria and Zimbabwe before the total collapse of the system.

In MODERN SOCIETY, Africa dies!
